Unilateral Below-the-Elbow - Testing and training for Myo-Electric
hand.
Instructions:
- Surface electrodes are placed over the muscles of the forearm which
normally control wrist flexion and extension.
- Myo-electric signals from the wrist flexor muscles are used to close
the hand and to internally rotate the wrist.
- Myo-electric signals from the wrist extensors are used to open the
hand and externally rotate the wrist.
- In testing, a computer is used to check signals and adjust the amplification
to optimize control functions.
