Urgent care is required in Haiti to rebuild their prosthetic services. ProsthetiKa will be responding to this need and we need your help.
How ProsthetiKa is helping:
We will be sending a team of two prosthetists, two therapists and two technicians. They will deliver donated prosthetic materials and supplies, and will work with local Haitian rehab personnel to create and restore local capability for fabricating, fitting, repairing and/or adjusting artificial limbs and braces. We bring experience from similar earthquake rehab projects in Armenia and Turkey.
We have been in contact with an Emergency Response Team in Washington, DC who advised us that trying to do anything immediately would be a poor idea. Our services will be required after the initial rubble is cleared, the water and power restored, the critically wounded have been stabilized, and the streets are safe. We will be, so to speak, in the second wave of assistance.
ProsthetiKa's goal is to raise $15,000 for this project. We need your help now.
